Just as we are getting out of the Covid crisis, the next big crisis has started in Europe. How should the companies prepare for the near future?
Crises are all very different in nature, but the ways to survive them are luckily very similar. These are the crucial things very company should establish and prepare for.
1. Every company should have a crisis organization or a crisis management team (CMT) established or at least thought out.
2. Communication capability has to be a priority, in crisis and in normal life. If comms are not strong in everyday business, it has to be beefed up well before it is needed in a crisis situation.
3. Best decisions are made with a good situational picture. If the situational picture is not a part of everyday business, it should be. During a crisis it is a fundamental part of crisis management and it should be at every key personnel's disposal, at all times.
4. You may need extra hands during the crisis. it is well worth it to map out what kind of help might be needed during a crisis. It can be anything from advising to extra pair of hands in comms team.
